When we discussed Valentine’s Day, we talked about how everyone is special. It’s a great way to get in some more of those friendship building activities as well and show that we are truly a classroom community that care about each other. For the prompt, each student had to decide what they liked best about themselves and then explain why. After they did their writing, I took a photo of each child’s favorite thing. Then, I let each student choose a color of paper to attach their photo and writing onto.
Can you read this Kindergarten writing? 🙂 Priya said “The best part of me is my hair because it is beautiful and long and shiny and it is black and nice.”
I loved reading their responses and what a variety of favorite things! Post these as a bulletin board in your hallway for the entire school to see how special your students are! Grab this FREE writing prompt so you can do this writing with your own students! This bulletin board could work for back to school, before parent teacher conferences, or any time of the school year.
