I’m excited to announce, I’ve published my 2nd published book, My First Grade Workbook! I wrote this workbook to reinforce many of the skills a first grader is about to discover. This book can give your child a boost before entering the classroom, offer extra support at home while first grade is in session, or even as a fun review over the summer so that newly-learned skills stay fresh.First graders are developing stronger social skills and becoming more independent and responsible, all while building on their kindergarten skills. They are absorbing brand new academic skills in literacy, math, science, and social studies. The 101 games and activities in this first grade workbook were created to keep kids entertained and motivated.
Through coloring, mazes, hidden pictures, riddles, puzzles, and other fun games, children will practice essential first-grade skills such as phonics and grammar, writing, numbers, math facts, science, and more. Children won’t even realize that they are learning! Here’s a peek at a few of the literacy activities.
I used to love hidden pictures games as a kid. This fun activity lets students build a compound word, then hunt for a picture of the new word.
One of the most fun things about being the author, is that you can add your family member’s names to the book. My husband loves sweets, so I wrote this story about him. 🙂
Within each section, the activities start off simple and slowly increase in difficulty. Completing the easiest ones first will allow your child’s confidence to build. Soon, children will quickly become eager and curious to see what comes next! Here are a few of the pages from the math section.
The math section will work on graphing, measurement, fractions, place value, and a lot of math facts. Children will start off with single digit problems, then get in a challenge with some double digit addition and subtraction.
The workbook even has activities for science and social studies!
Children learn at different speeds, so it’s okay if your child needs a little support when working through the book. The goal of My First Grade Workbook is to support your child’s first grade skills and to make learning fun.
